Who we are

Outy (getouty.com) is run by Filip Markiewicz, based in the United Kingdom. We are the "controller" of the personal data described here. If you have any questions, email hello@getouty.com.

What we collect and why

Newsletter sign-ups

When you sign up for the newsletter, we collect:

• your email address;
• when you signed up and confirmed your subscription, and the IP address you used (as a record of your consent);
• whether you open our emails and which links you click.

We use this to send you news about the launch of the Outy app, adventure tips and local discounts, and to understand which content is useful. We use double opt-in: you are only added to the list after you click the confirmation link we email you.

Lawful basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email, or by emailing us.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to messages.

Visiting the website

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and only gives us aggregate statistics (for example, which pages are viewed, and visitors' country and browser type). Cloudflare also processes your IP address to deliver the website and protect it from attacks.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website and understanding which content is useful.

Cookies

We do not use cookies for analytics or advertising. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the website from automated abuse.

Who we share your data with

We never sell your data. We use these service providers to run Outy:

• MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania): stores the mailing list and sends the newsletter.
• Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA): website hosting, security, analytics and email forwarding.
• Google (Gmail): emails sent to hello@getouty.com are forwarded to a Gmail inbox.

When the newsletter includes a discount from an activity provider, you use it directly with that provider. We do not give providers your details.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your email address on a "do not contact" list so we don't email you again, unless you ask us to delete it completely.
• Emails you send us: only as long as needed to deal with your message.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have it corrected or deleted;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• receive a copy of it in a portable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time.

To use any of these rights, email hello@getouty.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell newsletter subscribers by email.
